Punggol Waterway Lone (Instagram worthy) Tree

Update: the lone tree was struck by lightening and subsequently removed in 2015.

The key focus of today visit to Punggol Waterway (PW) was to see this lone tree. There were much rave about it on the social media and since am a fanatic for  nature, I must see it. Moreover, I visited PW a couple of times and had yet to see this. The PW is approximately 8.4km long, there are various carparks along the waterway, mostly free of charge.
If you bring along your bicycle, you probably can cover the full length in one visit. But if you are like me, walk, then you will probably need to break it down to different sections and see them at different visits.

The lone tree is located near the part of the waterway that was first opened to public in 2011. It is a short 1 min walk from the entrance (turn left) and you will be able to spot the tree on the slight hill top. Worth the trip!

Punggol Waterway - Lor Halus

This is my second visit in 4 years, more developed than the previous time with more links.

It is extremely hot in the afternoon, do slap on much sun protection if you are planning on the late morning or afternoon walk as most trees are still very small and could not provide much shades.

If you are planning to come in the early evening, do remember your insect repellent as the mosquitoes are quite fierce.

Tulipmania Floral Display 2015 - Gardens by the Bay

Finally make time for this in its third edition.
This year, the setting is colorful magical fairy tales.

There are Cinderella‘s carriage, Rapunzel’s tower, and the ginger bread house of Hansel and Gretel. There is even a red tulip named “Singapore”!

Very pretty sight indeed.
