Update: the lone tree was struck by lightening and subsequently removed in 2015.
The key focus of today visit to Punggol Waterway (PW) was to see this lone tree. There were much rave about it on the social media and since am a fanatic for nature, I must see it. Moreover, I visited PW a couple of times and had yet to see this. The PW is approximately 8.4km long, there are various carparks along the waterway, mostly free of charge.
If you bring along your bicycle, you probably can cover the full length in one visit. But if you are like me, walk, then you will probably need to break it down to different sections and see them at different visits.
The lone tree is located near the part of the waterway that was first opened to public in 2011. It is a short 1 min walk from the entrance (turn left) and you will be able to spot the tree on the slight hill top. Worth the trip!
